Hypnotised or de-hypnotised?
If you’ve never had hypnotherapy before, you might imagine it involves being put into a trance and being ‘reprogrammed’ with new behaviour – a bit like hypnotism stage shows. Let us reassure you now, that isn’t what happens!
While the therapy does begin with deep relaxation, it is not about changing who you are. The goal is to identify negative experiences from your past, which have led to performance issues in your present. We help you to see these experiences in a new and clearer light, undoing the harm they have caused you. So treatment is really more about ‘de-hypnotising’ than hypnotising you!
